Revelation Chapter 15
Rev 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
Just when we think itís about over, we see there is more judgment to come. When someone harms or kills those that are trying to point people to Jesus Christ which is the only way for any one, man or woman to be saved, it is very serious. When we try to stop the gospel from being preached, we are actually being used of Satan to send people to hell for eternity. We are agents of Satan when we just put up one stumbling block before someone in order to keep them from hearing the gospel. Just one deceiver or one person unknowingly hindering the gospel could cause a soul to be lost. It is serious. To teach false doctrine is very serious. The bible is clear that Jesus is the only way to God and salvation.
Jesus is the only way to get rid of sin and be cleansed from that sin. Jesus came not just to save us from the condemnation of sin but to save us out of sin. We are not to return to it. We must put on Christ and put off the old man of sin through the power of the Holy Spirit He gives to us when we turn to Him with all our hearts. If we take this lightly and choose to remain in our sins, we will be lost and will enter hell along with Satan and all the wicked people who have ever lived. Imagine spending eternity with Adolph Hitler. We can escape if we only turn to Jesus Christ asking Him to cleanse us from sin and give us His Holy Spirit to abide with us forever.
I read one commentator that believed that these seven angels are redeemed men rather than real angels. He explains this by using Revelation 21:9 showing that one of the angels which had one of the seven vials began to show him the New Jerusalem and other things. John tried to fall down and worship this angel but was forbidden. I know we are not supposed to worship angels but this particular angel said that he was a fellow servants and one of his brethren, the prophets indicating that He was a redeemed man who had already received his glorified body. We can only speculate here but I can see the reasoning. Angel does mean messenger in some places.
Here is that scripture in Revelation 21:
Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Rev 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things.
Rev 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
Rev 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
Here we see more Israelis that did not take the mark and had gotten victory over the deception of the beast and false prophet. The reason I believe these are mostly Israel is because of the next verse.
Rev 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
Who can sing the song of Moses and of the Lamb (Jesus) but the nation of Israel. Gentile Christians may sing the song of the redeemed and of the lamb but we were never under the law God sent through Moses.
There seems to be different companies of the redeemed all through Revelation. These were taken up just before the vial judgments. This is the place where the 2nd group of pre-wrath believers believe the rapture of the whole church takes place. I really can understand why there are so many rapture views because we do tend to see these at different times. I honestly believe the explanation for that is that there is more than one catching away of believers. It is us humans that seem to limit the rapture to only one event. We must not make the same mistake the Jews did when they saw only one coming of the Messiah, not two. They did not recognize him the first time. I want to make it clear that this is my observation. I'm not saying this as "Thus saith the Lord."
Just as the brothers of Joseph did not recognize him the first time they went down to Egypt but they did recognize Him the second time is a pattern for the coming of Christ. The Jews didnít recognize Christ the first time He came but they will recognize Him the second time.
Rev 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
Jesus Christ will rule from the nation of Israel. All land that was ever promised to them will return to their possession forever. Israel will reign supreme. If we are part of those who want to destroy Israel, we will find ourselves fighting against God almighty. We will not win. For a while during the great tribulation, it will look like the enemies of Israel are going to win. The Gentile nations will almost destroy them. It will seem as if all is lost until the king of kings and Lord of Lords returns in the clouds with all His saints to deliver Israel from being destroyed and to usher in the kingdom of Jesus Christ.
Rev 15:5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:
Rev 15:6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
Rev 15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth forever and ever.
Rev 15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
We see how severe and serious these last judgments are that the smoke from the glory of God filled the temple so that no one could enter until all was fulfilled. The temple in heaven is the one Moses and the children of Israel used as a pattern to make the tabernacle in the wilderness.
Notice again these seven angels clothed in white linen making is seem more that they are men that have been resurrected or raptured. The white linen may stand for the righteousness of the saints as in:
Rev 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
The saints were made righteous by the blood of the lamb and thus were given white robes to wear.
We have heard that it is said, "Vengeance is mine" and "I will repay". That is literally true. God is about to take vengeance against all rebellion against those who despised His word, despised His free gift of salvation, and who killed His own people. This is why I repeat so many times the warning to all religions, atheists and even the church; do not harm those that disagree with your doctrine because you may be fighting against God.
Do no harm to Israel, neither try to take her land away because it was promised to them by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We have no right to pressure Israel into trading land for peace. It will never work. George Bush, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George Bush again, Obama and all future US presidents, I love every one of you, but you stand on dangerous ground when you touch the chosen of God, whether that be Israel or the faithful believers in Jesus Christ. Our country will suffer severely if we harm the brethren of Jesus Christ. God does not take back His promises just because Israel fell into unbelief and temporarily lost their place in the vine. His promise to Abraham is still good. Israel will be saved, Christ will rule from Israel and there is nothing we can do about that.
The elect of God just happens to be Israel. They were the elect chosen to bring forth the Messiah that was to save the world from sin. When we believe in Jesus we also become part of the elect that inherits eternal life but we do not replace the original elect of Israel. They have their place in the heart of God and we can never replace that. Israel will soon discover who their Messiah really is. I rejoice to see that day. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever. Even so come Lord Jesus.
